The Smallest, Lightest Primitive Skill Tool in Your Kit - MADE in USA
The shepherd's sling is one of the oldest outdoor tools on earth. Learning to use one builds hand-eye coordination and patience, and it connects you to the way people lived off the land for thousands of years. It is also a lot of fun around camp.
Our full-sized, heavy-duty survival slings pack up small, weigh less than an ounce and are designed to fit (with Tiny Survival Gear) INSIDE our Standard, Square and Large sized survival tins.
Once mastered, you'll have a primitive skill most people have never tried, in a tool that weighs almost nothing.
High Quality - Precision Crafted - MADE in the USA
Handcrafted in the USA, our Survival Sling pouches are made from beautifully tanned chestnut brown leather. Every pouch is precision cut and preformed to securely wrap around a stone or practice ball for exceptional control and accuracy. Our pouches are soft, broken in and ready to sling objects up to two inches in diameter (although we suggest you start with marshmallows).
One length of high quality 550 paracord is secured to each end of the leather pouch / pocket. Cord is finished off on one end with an easy to hold knot, and on the other end with a finger loop.
In a pinch, the two lengths of paracord on this sling can be used for other survival purposes.
Our Slings come fully assembled and ready to serve you for many years and then pass on to the next generation.
Training NOTE: We recommend that you practice with marshmallows to start. They are cheap, reusable and won't put your eye out. As skill increases advance to practice golf balls. Then stones.
PLEASE USE CAUTION. Always wear eye protection. A sling can cause serious injury or damage. Practice only in a safe, open area, well away from people, pets, vehicles and windows, and follow your local laws.
Slings in History
Most of us know the account of David and Goliath (found in 1 Samuel 17), where young David faced the giant with a sling and a stone. His skill came from years as a shepherd, mastering the sling while watching over his father's flock alone in the wilderness. That's why we call ours the Shepherd's Sling.
