NEW! With the success of the MSk-1 Mini EDGE on Kickstarter - David decided to add a new dark chestnut dyed leather firesteel holder in addition to our classic black kydex holder.

Assembled in the USA with US and imported components both kits are designed to bolt onto the MSK-1 kydex, nylon or leather sheaths (with 1.5" spaced side eyelets).

The ferro rod is now 1/4" (6.3mm) in diameter and has an improved larger, non-slip black coated, solid aluminum handle.

This rod kit is specially crafted to enable your MSK-1 or MSK-1 Min EDGE to throw a blaze of fire-igniting sparks.

Choose black kydex or leather sheath to hold the included firesteel rod kit.

*INCLUDES: (1) MSK-1 Firesteel with Handle (Black) (1) Firesteel Sheath (choose kydex or leather) with longer Bolts (Black) (1) Handle Bungee to secure the firesteel in the sheath.

*MSK-1 Knife, MSK-1 Black Kydex Sheath, MSK-1 Mini Knife (and Sheath) and Kit Pouch Shown in Photos are NOT included. All Are Sold Separately.

Firesteel kit

Very small, awkward for my large hands, planning on using it as emergency backup to my larger ferro rod.

Tween to fire steel kit

I haven’t actually put the steel to spark yet but, I do think it’s the right size to carry on knife and will produce enough spark to get the job done. My only suggestion is to put a red bungee retention cord, possibly with a reflective element to it so that if you lose it, It would be easier to find. I did just that modification to mine and now it’s as close to perfect as you could get in my opinion.
